Nor’easter Preparedness ReminderA hybrid nor’easter is forecast to impact Connecticut this weekend, bringing the potential for heavy rain, strong winds, hazardous travel conditions, and power outages.
Please take a few minutes to prepare:
𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥: Use caution, allow extra travel time, and avoid unnecessary travel if conditions become hazardous. Watch for downed trees, debris, flooding, and power lines.

𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲: Never operate a generator inside a home, garage, basement, or other enclosed space. Generators should be operated outdoors and at least 20 feet away from your home and away from doors, windows, and vents to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Never use a gas stove or oven to heat your home.
𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: Never approach or touch a downed power line. Report it to your utility company and keep a safe distance.
